It's Fear of Missing Out (FOMO). Board games companies use this when crowd funding games to boost sales by offering items only available during the Kickstarter or GameFound campaign. There are many people that miss a campaign that won't buy a retail version of that game because to them it is not a "complete" game. Honestly Filsinger games is using the same tactic with the Con exclusives. I have no idea who the upcoming exclusives are and I won't be able to attend the virtual con because I'll be at a family reunion so why did I buy a virtual ticket? Because I know they are going to release a couple of cards that I might want and I know this is the best chance to get them. I'm buying something sight unseen on a chance I will miss out on something. Would I live with or without the cards, sure, but I also don't need to have everything for a game to enjoy it. I've found that most items like these don't really add a lot to a game and in some cases even take away from it. The one thing that I don't like seeing from Con exclusives is what they did with Omega. It's one thing to have cards that are for characters that are lesser known or are never mentioned in a game book, but it's another to have a character play a large role in a story and is listed on the roster not to have a readily available card. You can't say that one doesn't detract from playing that set. For a long time now I felt Fisinger games could benefit from offering print print and play versions of any items that are not going to be reprinted. It almost felt criminal to me that original B/W sets weren't available on the main shop, not COTG Online. I think there are some helpful points though - in the case of the two Kronos cards that have been released (Omega GCON '21 & Chaos Supreme Perennial '22) both characters have cards that are easily obtainable that would be "reasonable" swaps for them (Omega Print and Play Classics 2079; Chaos Supreme from Future Shock 2130). Both are readily available. For those that don't remember, when there were more frequent SE cards in the old B&W days - a card like Dreadnaught (for example) 2105, Monad 2104, Pegasus 2102, etc. those cards technically had minor differences and were "necessary" to play the game. For someone who jumped in at 2105 to play as Dreadnaught or Death's Head (SE 2105) one had two options - buy the SE card, OR use previously released cards (Dreadnaught 2092; Death's Head 2094). That was it. I know being a youngster back when 2105 came out, and not being willing to buy the SE cards at that time when I first started playing it wasn't until 2106 came out that I had the money to buy the SE cards, I had to make due with Dreadnaught's 2092 card, Monad's 2099 card, and Death's Head 2094 card until I got the cards. Looking at the cards that were most recently released for Kronos, the cards have minimal changes from the cards I noted above. I come down on the side of it like this - if you are willing to pay to get the Omega card from a third party, they are easily had. I had two, and sold both of them at what i believe to be a fair price. I myself had to work to get Bundy's color card (thanks Swarm), and also had to work REALLY hard to get back to where I was when I was a kid with B&W COTG. It was important to me, so I paid fair prices for them, based on the value of the cards. I myself don't play Kronos, and probably never will, having GWFZ, FTR, COTG, CPC, and Legeds feds makes anything more too daunting. Those cards sit until someone expresses a need for them, and then I am happy to oblige. All that to say, I don't have too much of a problem with this. Stuff is out there, it's just how much of a value you place on it, and if you don't value the exact card that is OOP, then go the route of Pay and Print Classics 2079 and use the Future Shock Chaos Supreme.

I agree that there are other cards that could be used to fulfill the Omega role and this issue is pretty much just limited to Kronos because it uses cards from various sets outside of the main CotG line. It would have been nice to have a little buyers guide as to what was needed to have the roster listed in the book.

More great points. Kronos Omega is modeled after blue Classics Omega, while Chaos Supreme is modeled after Chaos Supreme from Future Shock. Each card is equipped with slightly alternate stats and new art that I hope gives fans new value, while also not throwing them an extreme curve ball. Our 2022 GCON Exclusive game card fits that same mold. Can’t wait for everybody to greet him at the Crossroads.

It would have been nice to have a little buyers guide as to what was needed to have the roster listed in the book. Totally understand that - I think they do a pretty decent job of it. Really the two cards you need for Kronos that you cannot get anywhere else are as follows: Omega Of Cetus - GCON '21 (or Download and Print Classics 2079) Chaos Supreme - Perennial '22 (or Future Shock 2130) Other cards for Kronos would require packs that are made as well as COTG Pro Prime '22 which would include three Kronos wrestlers. A buyers guide would be helpful, I think the Pro Prime card list would be a great place to look because they are either had by The Kronos releases (COTG Q1 2022) or Pro Prime (COTG Q2).

I can promise anybody interested in Kronos is that you won’t miss anything by bookmarking the Kronos section here on the boards and/or by following me on the boards. You’ll never miss a thing Kronos related. Maybe I finally need a Twitter handle too. I’m definitely not doing a podcast. 😂 (would be the worst podcast in the Galaxy w me rambling and losing my train of thought every five minutes).

Actually for me what I had to look up was what I needed from FTR, I figured it out without much trouble.
