I'm not big on telling people what to watch, but would NOT recommend the new Hellraiser on hulu. There's just nothing to it. Two hours of waiting for something cool or interesting and getting nothing but some updated designs on the Cenobites. The entire last half of the movie looks like a tour through a really tame haunted house during Halloween season. "Ooooh, there's a scary monster walking down that hall! Hey, Pinhead is standing in the door! Cool FX, dude." Really though, in my opinion this is a franchise that's been getting along on nothing but cool character designs since 1987 anyway. I keep giving them a chance, but keep getting disappointed. Couldn't agree more. The past movies were not complete garbage but also nowhere near the potential of what they could be. I have heard nothing but bad things about the movie so no desire to see it even before this post. One issue I had right off the bat is instead of introducing a new leader of the Cenobites that is female they plug a female into the Pinhead roll. Use some damn creativity, yea that is asking a lot from Hollywood, and create a new character to carry the franchise forward.

Halloween Ends is one of the worst movies of the year. I don't even recommend checking it out on Peacock like I did today because the movie is a complete waste of time. The last three Halloween movies have just gotten worse and worse. Halloween Ends is almost as bad as this year's Firestarter remake which I absolutely hated.

I watch the originals every year, and I’m happy and satisfied. Micheal Myers is my favorite horror film monster.
I did watch and enjoy Rob Zombie’s version of Halloween, but 9/10 times give me the originals. Love them all.

The original Halloween is probably my favorite horror movie of all time. Haven't watched any in the series I believe since 4 maybe 5.

Zeke speaks the truth...its BAD! yeah, although I liked the 2018 movie, last year's Halloween Kills where Jamie Lee Curtis was in the hospital the entire time was terrible and this year's Halloween Ends is even worse. The opening act I thought was good but then it went straight downhill from there. This is a horror movie that lacks alot of suspense (sort of like a bad comedy that can't make you laugh) and I think it actually takes over an hour before Michael Myers actually kills somebody? I also thought the Rohan Campbell character was a failure even though it was an attempt to do something a little different in a horror movie.

I have been getting Mondays off recently and if I have Halloween off, I will go to the old theater downtown as they will be showing the original Halloween. Of course, I have seen it a zillion time but do not think I have ever seen it on the big screen so it will be different.

I picked up the Halloween Kills dvd for like $5 the other day. It has the theater release and an extended version. I started to watch it but had to stop early on as I was confused. I was thinking this was a direct sequel to Halloween 2 (first version). I had forgot they made Halloween (third version) first as the direct sequel to Halloween 2 (first version) and Halloween Kills was the sequel to that. So, I hopped on Wiki and read plot for Halloween (third version) so I had an idea of what was going on. Then I watched the theater version of Halloween Kills. It was not as bad as I thought it might be but is sure did try to kill Halloween (the franchise not the holiday). It at least kept the tradition of horror movies in the fact people acted stupid and pretty much no one showed any common sense. I did not like how they seemed to make the Michael mask seem Joker like. I really hated how they gave Michael the power to make cell phones useless. Seriously, it is 2018 in the movie, current time anyways, and we see people using cell phones in the first 1/3 or so of the movie. Then the last 2/3 no one uses the damn things. Seriously? Instead of communicating with their cell phones they act like it is back in 1978 like in the flashbacks. I also did not like how they make Laurie Stode into an annoying character. Now that I have covered the stuff I did not like, here is what I did like.
1) The mob turning into a real crazed mob. Often when movies are made, they are influenced by the world around them at the time. When this movie was being written and made, we had mobs in the real world. Those mobs stated with good intentions like the people in the movie. In the real world they wanted police to stop shooting black men and women. Ones who often were unarmed and/or in their homes when the police enter, often entering the wrong place. In the movie they wanted to see an end to Michael's murdering rampage. However, just like the protests were hijacked by people that were bat shit crazy so was the "get Michael" crowd. In both cases we had people acting stupid, getting each other riled up in a foaming at the mouth frenzy. The only difference was the looting. Wait. Laurie took the pain killer medicine and injected herself without permission so that is kind of like looting. Well, the point is while at first the way the mob acted was annoying the more I thought about it the more it seemed like who people would really act.
2) Laurie's daughter wearing an ugly Christmas sweater. I am one of those nuts that loves Christmas. So, any sign of it makes me smile. Plus when there was stupid things going on the screen I could look at it and smile
3) The nod to Halloween 3 (first and only version...so far anyways). Having Michael put the masks from Halloween 3 on his victims was pretty cool.
4) The final fight scene at the end. When all the people surrounded Michael, I should have been excited to see Michael get his. In the past I would have. But the way they wrote things I was hoping for Michael to give them a little something something. When he picked up his mask I was thinking I wanted him to go all Bruce Lee on them. But of course they beat him down. I was bummed. But they saved things by having him get up and kick some major ass. Including Tommy, a character I like when Paul Rudd played him but despised the Anthony Michael Hall version. When Anthony should have played him like the loveable victim much like his Rusty Griswold, Farmer Ted and Brian Johnson characters from his early work he ended up playing him like the jerkwad Jim from Edward Scissorhands. I could not wait to see him taken out.
One day soon I will watch the extended scene version to see the difference but I am in no rush.

Last night I watched The Lost Continent. I remember, kinda, seeing it as a kid. It felt more creepy and dark but that was via the eyes of a kid. As an adult it was an ok movie. I feel they spent too much time focusing on the time on the boat and the trip and not enough time on the destination of the spooky "Continent". This is one of those movies that I would be on board for a reboot/remake as long as the right people were involved. I could see either a miniseries or a couple movies. There is a lot that can be explored in regards to the people who ended up stranded there and the society they built over the decades. To me, they were the best part and it all felt rush in this movie.

Last night it was Rob Zombie's 31. Like most of his projects it had a great idea but feels like it was not fully developed and did not reach it's potential. Let, it had enough craziness to make it worth a watch. Best way to describe it is it is Running Man meets Hell's Rejects.
