[glow=red,2,300]Injury Update[/glow] ”Superfly” Jimmy Snuka suffered a concussion at the hands (or more specifically the claw hand) of Killer Kowalski. It is expected that Snuka will be cleared to return to action in 1 to 2 weeks.
[glow=blue,2,300]Breaking News[/glow]
The Best of Enemies In two weeks, in Corpus Christi, Masked Superstar and Association new comer Bryan Danielson will join forces in the Lethal Lottery, in an attempt to punch their ticket into the tournament too crown the first ever Heritage Champion. But first, this week at the Chamber of Horrors in New Orleans, they’ll be enemies. Masked Superstar will team with Big Daddy Dink’s other charges The Love Brothers in a six man tag team match. On the other side? His Lethal Lottery partner Danielson, who’ll be joined by The Love Brothers’ rivals Les Thatcher and Ray Stevens.
8-man Elimination Match Leads to NOLA Showdowns After the surprising results in Denton in the 8-man elimination match, two matches have been signed for New Orleans. First, D’Lo Brown, the last man eliminated from his team, has challenged the man who eliminated him, Justin Credible. According to Brown, there’s no way Credible can beat him when it’s not 3-on-1. Credible will get a chance to prove otherwise. Also, the undisputed MVP of the winning team, Virgil, will try and prove that his performance in Denton was no fluke, when he faces off against ”Hacksaw” Jim Duggan.
World Cup Fever Coming to the Association May 9th. Save the date, because that’s the day the Superstars of the Association and the best pro-wrestlers in the world will descend on Little Rock Arkansas for [glow=yellow,2,300]The Wrestling World Cup[/glow] Watch for more details in the weeks to come.
[glow=purple,2,300]Power Rankings[/glow] 1)Killer Kowalski (2,+1) In Denton, the WCA Heavyweight Champion reaffirmed everything we know about him. He is vicious, vindictive, petty, and seemingly unstoppable. 2) Curt Hennig (3,+1) Though the number one contender technically lost in Denton, it was the second generation star who walked out triumphant, while the massive Executioner #3 was knocked out cold. 3) The Mega-Bucks (1,-2) Ted DiBiase, along with his business associate and ally Adrian Street, learned that when the deck isn’t stacked in their favor, Dr. Death and Bam-bam aren’t so easy to deal with. DiBiase will bring his 7’4” equalizer with him next week, when the tag team champions partner with the Iron Sheik to take on Gordy, Williams, and One Man Gang. 4)”Dr. Death” Steve Williams(9,+5) Williams got a measure of revenge against DiBiase this week, and is already making noise about he and Gordy getting the next shot at the Mega-Bucks’ gold. If he, Gordy, and OMG get the win this coming week, it will be hard not to agree. 5)Terry “Bam-bam” Gordy (8,+3) Bam-bam has bested DiBiase, Street, and Virgil. There’s only one man left who played a part in putting Gordy on the injured list yet to feel his wrath… The 8th wonder of the world, Andre the Giant. Gordy gets his shot this coming week. 6) Rob Van Dam (-) With a victory in the Bell Avenue Street Fight, RVD put a convincing exclamation point on his rivalry with Bob Orton Sr. Now, Van Dam has put himself directly in harms way, aligning himself with Curt Hennig and Jimmy Snuka against Killer Kowalski and The Executioners! 7)The Love Brothers(-) Another week, another victory for the Love Brothers. Big Daddy Dink’s hateful hippies have been on a roll. Next up teaming with Masked Superstar to face new comer Bryan Danielson and hated rivals Thatcher and Stevens. 8) The Destroyer (-) The masked marvel coasted to victory in the eight-man elimination match, barely breaking a sweat. He once again showed that he is as intelligent and sensational as he says. 9)The Heavenly Bodies(6,-3) The Bodies took the week off in protest over the “unfair” way in which the Association has treated their biggest fan, Johnny Fairplay. Next week, “Doctor of Love” Tom Pritchard will be in action, taking on Brian Kendrick one-on-one. Three guesses who’ll be at ringside, and the 1st two don’t count. 10)Bob Orton Sr. (4,-6) There’s an old saying “It’s hard to keep a good man down.” Well, Cowboy Bob (the elder) may not be a “good” man, but he is tougher then a $2 steak. Orton will look to rebound this coming week when he takes on Bob Armstong.

Wrestling Championship Association presented by The Guilty Party Card 1.12 03/22, The Human Performance Center, New Orleans, Louisiana
Anytime the Association returns to New Orleans and “The Chamber of Horrors”, you know it’s going to be a memorable night. Tonight was no different, with a big tag team main event, another instant class between The Heavenly Bodies and London & Kendrick, and “The Slam Heard Round the World”! Let’s go to the results.
The Destroyer defeated Mister X via submission. In a battle for Parts Unknown bragging rights, The Destroyer lived up to his name and utterly destroyed the debuting Mister X. Though Destroyer could have won the match after his sensational suplex, but pulled Mr. X up at two, and then locked in his devastating figure-four leg lock for the win.
Bryan Danielson, Les Thatcher & Ray Stevens defeated The Love Brothers & Masked Superstar (with Big Daddy Dink) via countout. Next week in Corpus Christi, Masked Superstar and Bryan Danielson will be Lethal Lottery teammates, but tonight, they tried to tear each other apart. The Love Brothers and Big Daddy Dink got a taste of their own medicine as Thatcher, Stevens, and Danielson expertly kept Masked Superstar isolated from his partners and wore him down with high impact moves. The Superstar was able to endure Thatcher’s Stump Puller, and Stevens’ Bombs Away, showing great fortitude. But when the action spilled out of the ring, Danielson launched himself like a bullet through the ropes, hitting Masked Superstar with a devastating suicide dive. Though Dink tried to help his man recover, Masked Superstar could not meet the referee’s count.
”Doctor of Love” Tom Pritchard (with Johnny Fairplay) defeated Brian Kendrick via pinfall. Another week, another phenomenal match between a member of The Heavenly Bodies and the duo of Paul London and Brian Kendrick. Once again, Association management representative and self-described “World’s biggest Heavenly Bodies fan”, Johnny Fairplay, was at ringside. This match went back and forth. Early on, Pritchard used his brass knuckles to get a near fall, but Kendrick battled back. After using his educated feet to get several near falls, Kendrick connected with Sliced Bread #2! Before Kendrick could go for the cover, Fairplay leapt on to the ring apron, distracting the referee. Kendrick, who along with his partner London, has been very vocal in his complaints to the Board of Governors about Fairplay’s involvement in The Heavenly Bodies matches, had had enough. He grabbed the reality show veteran by the lapel and floored him with a hard left hand, much to the crowd’s delight. The distraction proved sufficient though for Pritchard to regain his senses, because moments later he turned the tide in the match, connected with a devastating enzuigiri out of no where, and got the three count!
Virgil defeated ”Hacksaw” Jim Duggan via pinfall. Last week in Denton, Virgil was the undisputed MVP of the eight-man elimination tag match. One of the men he eliminated, “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, was looking for some payback. This was a wild brawl, with more haymakers then headlocks. In the end, Virgil hit a stunning combo of punches that left Duggan flattened just long enough to get the three count. Something tells me this one isn’t over yet…
The James Gang defeated The Mongols via disqualification. The James Gang came in hot, looking to get back into title contention, while the Mongols, especially Bolo, looked tired and flat. After being dominated for a time by Kip and BG, the Mongols turned things around. But Bolo, perhaps eager or even desperate to end the match quickly, got a little too aggressive, and got caught by the referee using his Mongol chain to attack Kip, costing his team the victory.
D’Lo Brown defeated Justin Credible via pinfall. D’Lo controlled this match from the get go, but Justin Credible showed remarkable resilience. Despite being hit with repeated running powerbombs, Credible kept getting back up. Finally, D’Lo used the Lo Down to put Credible away once and for all.
One Man Gang, Terry “Bam-bam” Gordy, & “Dr. Death” Steve Williams defeated The Mega-Bucks & Iron Sheik via pinfall. In terms of raw tonnage, this was the biggest match in Association history, and it contained what may well be the biggest moment in Association history. Late in the match, Terry “Bam-bam” Gordy was in trouble, getting triple teamed by the Tag Team Champions and the Iron Sheik. With the 8th wonder of the world manhandling him, things looked grim for Gordy and his teammates. But, Andre made a mistake, and Gordy managed to tag in Williams. Dr. Death had been out of much of the match, having taken three vicious kicks to the head early on from the Iron Sheik’s allegedly loaded boot; But Williams came in on fire! He dominated the surprised French colossus, rocking him with repeated Lariats, and then, to the amazement of all in attendance, slamming the Giant in the middle of the ring! Williams then made a quick cover, and got a shocking 3 count victory over the previously seemingly unstoppable Andre! With Iron Sheik walking off, shaking his head in disgust, a furious Ted DiBiase berated his employee all the way back up the ramp while OMG and the Miracle Violence Connection celebrated. Williams and Gordy once again pantomimed the championship belts around their wastes.
Bob Orton Sr. defeated Bob Armstrong (with Brad Armstrong) via pinfall. Prior to this match, it was announced that the scheduled match between Al Snow and King Kong Bundy would not take place, as Bundy was ill. The match will be rescheduled for the next time the Association comes to New Orleans. Instead, the fans in the chamber of horrors got treated to a Lethal Lottery preview, and Bob Orton Sr. battled Bob Armstrong (who was accompanied by his son Brad, who will team up with Orton to face his father and Virgil next week). Orton showed that there are no lingering affects from the brutal Bell Avenue Street Fight he lost last week, dominating Armstrong. Orton got a quick victory after hitting Armstrong with the piledriver.
Main Event The Executioners defeated Curt Hennig & Rob Van Dam via pinfall. RVD stepped in for the injured Jimmy Snuka, partnering with number one contender Curt Hennig for the first time against the Executioners. That inexperience was evident as the two popular stars never got it going. The massive masked men made short work of their more agile foes. Executioner #3 got the pinfall victory over Hennig after connecting with a Backbreaker Drop. As soon as the bell rang, WCA Heavyweight champion Killer Kowalski hit the ring and went after Hennig. He locked on the Kowalski Claw while the Executioners held Hennig down. Before to much damage could be done though, RVD cleared the ring with a chair, saving Hennig.
* Next week under the lights at Whataburger Stadium in Corpus Christi Texas, Curt Hennig gets his shot at Killer Kowalski and the Association Heavyweight Championship. Hennig had best make the most of it, because Kowalski has declared it to be Hennig’s “One and Only” shot at his title. * The Road to the Heritage Championship begins! In Corpus Christi, the Lethal Lottery will determine who the 8 men in the tournament to crown the first Heritage champion will be. * After “The Slam Heard Round the World”, The Miracle Violence Connection wants a shot at the Association Tag Team Championship! In Corpus Christi, they’ll have a chance to earn that shot when they and 9 other teams square off in an over the top rope tag team battle royal! The winning duo will receive a shot at the Tag Team Championship in two weeks in New Mexico. * All this plus, the first preview match for the Wrestling World Cup will take place when Claudio Castagnoli from Switzerland, representing the highly touted European Union team, will take on team Russia’s Boris Zhukov! The reserved seating is sold out, but general admission tickets are still available.

Fairplay fired; hired After weeks of underhanded behavior, this past week proved to be the straw that broke the camel’s back. Johnny Fairplay has been fired from his position as Association Management Representative. Sighting his repeated and flagrant interference on behalf of The Heavenly Bodies as cause, the Association Board of Governors voted unanimously to terminate the reality TV veteran. Don’t feel to bad for Mr. Fairplay. Within hours of his termination, he issued a statement announcing he had been hired by the Heavenly Bodies as their new manager.
Who’s in charge here? With Johnny Fairplay out, there’s now a power vacuum in the Association. No need to worry though, because the Board of Governors announced that they have hired a new “Director of Athletics”. Who this new authority figure is, and how he’ll represent the Board of Governors’ interests we will have to wait to see.
[glow=purple,2,300]Power Rankings[/glow] 1)Killer Kowalski (1,-) The champion, with out being on the card, still made his presence felt. He attacked his rival, Curt Hennig, and has the momentum on his side heading into their big showdown this week in Corpus Christi. 2) The Miracle Violence Connection (4/5,+2/+3) The tandem of Dr. Death and Bam-bam made the biggest impact of the night when Steve Williams body slammed Andre the Giant and pinned the Frenchman 1-2-3 in the middle of the ring. The duo will next compete in a tag team battle royal to try and win a shot at the Mega-Bucks’ tag team titles. 3) The Executioners (-) The massive masked men dominated Hennig and RVD this week, doing their job in softening up Curt Hennig for Killer Kowalski. Next, the dastardly duo will compete in the tag team battle royal with a title shot on the line. 4)The Mega-Bucks(3,-1) Ted DiBiase was livid with his employee, Andre the Giant, after the French colossus was both slammed and pinned by Dr. Death Steve Williams. While the Tag Team Champions await the winners of the battle royal to see who they will defend their titles against next, Andre will attempt to reestablish his dominance when he battles three men at once. 5)The Heavenly Bodies (9,+4) The Bodies out smarted the duo of London and Kendrick again when the Doctor of Love Tom Pritchard got the win over Brian Kendrick. Now, with new manager Johnny Fairplay by their side, the Bodies will take on London and Kendrick (and eight other teams) for a shot at the tag team titles. 6) The Destroyer (8,+2) The Destroyer dominated Mr. X, and now has to be considered one of the favorites teaming up with One Man Gang in the Lethal Lottery. 7)Curt Hennig(2,-5) Killer Kowalski says that Curt Hennig will only get one shot the WCA Heavyweight Championship. Hennig will have to make the most of it heading into their showdown in Corpus Christi. 8) Bob Orton Sr. (10,+2) Cowboy Bob (the elder) bounced back impressively with a win over Bob Armstrong. The two will lock horns again when Orton teams up with Brad Armstrong to take on Bob Armstrong and Virgil. 9)Virgil(-) The king of the upset got another big win, using his quick hands and devastating punching power to get the win over “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan. Virgil has momentum on his side, and could be a major player in the upcoming Heritage title tournament, if he and Bob Armstrong can get past the Lethal Lottery. 10)Bryan Danielson (-) Association new comer Bryan Danielson is white hot. He teamed with the duo of Les Thatcher & Ray Stevens to get an impressive win over the Love Brothers and The Masked Superstar. Now, Danielson and Superstar will join forces in the Lethal Lottery. Nothing to worry about… I’m sure Masked Superstar isn’t the kind of guy to hold a grudge or anything.

Three on One Handicap Match Andre the Giant defeated Larry Sharpe, Savage-T, and George South via pinfall. The colossal Frenchman was looking to display his dominance after suffering his first pinfall loss last week. He did so in convincing fashion, dominating three journeymen before putting away “Pretty Boy” Larry Sharpe with a big splash.
Lethal Lottery Match Al Snow & The Mountie defeated King Kong Bundy & The Iron Sheik via pinfall. In the first match of the Lethal Lottery, Snow joined forces with former tag team champion The Mountie to take on the dastardly combo of King Kong Bundy and the Iron Sheik. Sheik and Bundy used their strength advantage to dominate the popular Snow early on, and the Sheik used his allegedly loaded boot to bust Snow open. When Snow eventually was able to turn the tide and tag in The Mountie, who went to work on The Iron Sheik and Bundy. Mountie used his shock stick to put big Bundy down and get the three count. Now he and Snow will met in the first round of the Heritage Championship tournament.
Lethal Lottery Match Virgil & Bob Armstrong defeated Bob Orton Sr. & Brad Armstrong via pinfall. When the pairings for the Lethal Lottery was announced, this matchup raised a lot of eyebrows. The popular assumption here was that Bob Armstrong and his son Brad wouldn’t be eager to lock horns. Early on in this match, it certainly seemed as though Bob felt that way, refusing to tag in when Virgil had his son on the defensive. Later though, when Orton had the senior Armstrong in trouble, Brad willingly and eagerly tagged in, and put the boots to his own father! This action shocked and disgusted the crowd, who booed Brad Armstrong loudly, providing the distraction Bob needed to get the tag to Virgil! Virgil came in a house of fire, and continued his hot streak by pinning Brad Armstrong after a running tackle. Next week, Virgil and Bob Armstrong will face off in the Heritage Championship tournament.
Wrestling World Cup preview match Claudio Castagnoli defeated Boris Zhukov via pinfall. These men represented two highly touted squads heading into May’s big international event. Claudio, from Team European Union, made short work of the man representing Team Russia, following up a Ricola Bobm with an Alpamare Waterslide for the win.
Lethal Lottery Match Bryan Danielson & Masked Superstar (with Big Daddy Dink) defeated ”Hacksaw” Jim Duggan & Justin Credible via submission. Though Danielson and Masked Superstar had a battle last week, Duggan and Credible have been at war for months. While Superstar and The American Dragon were able to put aside their differences, Duggan an Credible couldn’t bury the hatchet long enough to succeed. Duggan was trapped in the Masked Superstar’s dreaded Cobra Hold, and with Credible just smiling and watching, was forced to submit. After the match, Credible attacked the downed Duggan with his Singapore cane, beating him mercilessly until being pulled off by Association officials.
Lethal Lottery Match D’Lo Brown & “Exotic” Adrian Street defeated One Man Gang & The Destroyer via pinfall. The last Lethal Lottery match proved to be the best one. This was a phenomenal back and forth match, with both teams clicking as duos. Gang and Destroyer looked strong early on, but Gang missed a 747 splash attempt on D’Lo, which allowed Brown and Street to take over and use their superior speed to wear the big man down and in the end, Street used his running crucifix pinning combination to secure a win while D’Lo cut off the Destroyer from making the save.
10 Team Battle Royal The Miracle Violence Connection defeated 9 other teams to earn a tag team title shot. With a shot at the Mega-Bucks and the WCA Tag Team Titles at stake, all ten of these teams came out looking to make a big impact. The debuting Sheepherders had a lot of people excited, but didn’t get much of a chance to showcase their talents as they were the first duo eliminated. Eventually, it came down to Miracle Violence Connection, who have been red hot of late and had already eliminated three other teams, and the duo of Les Thatcher and Ray Stevens, who had already scored something of a personal victory by eliminating their bitter rivals, The Love Brothers. For a time, it looked like Thatcher and Stevens would score the shocking victory, as Thatcher had Dr. Death Steve Williams in real trouble, but the MVC proved to powerful, and eventually, Terry Gordy clothslined Ray Stevens over the top rope to capture the win for he and Williams. Order of Elemination 1) The Sheepherders (Butch Miller eliminated by Kip James) 2) The Mongols (Geeto eliminated by B.G. James) 3) The Heavenly Bodies (Tom Pritchard eliminated by Terry Gordy) 4) The Executioners (Executioner #2 eliminated by Terry Gordy) 5) Mr. X & The 5th Beatle (5th Beatle eliminated by Terry Gordy) 6) The James Gang (Kip James eliminated by Paul London) 7) Paul London & Brian Kendrick (Brian Kendrick eliminated by Reginald Love) 8) The Love Brothers (Hartford Love eliminated by Les Thatcher) 9) Les Thatcher & Ray Stevens (Ray Stevens eliminated by terry Gordy)
Main Event WCA Heavyweight Championship match Champion Killer Kowalski (with The Executioners) defeated Number One Contender Curt Hennig via pinfall to retain. After weeks of conflict, Curt Hennig got another shot at the WCA Heavyweight Championship held by Killer Kowalski. With the massive Executioners looking on, Kowalski started out strong, using his power advantage to dominate the second generation star. It looked like Kowalski was heading for an easy victory, when a miss calculation on an attempted slam gave Hennig the opening he needed. Once again Hennig’s speed proved difficult for Kowalski to handle. Hennig got a near fall with his patented Hennig-plex, and another with The Ax. Kowalski was in trouble when Hennig whipped him into the corner. Hennig charged after him, when Executioner #3 pulled Kowalski out of the way. Hennig crashed hard into the turnbuckle, and Kowalski made the quick cover for the three count, with an assist from Executioner #2, who knocked Hennig’s foot off the rope.
* An amazing night, and an amazing debut in Corpus Christi for the Association. Next up, a return to New Mexico! * The first round of the Heritage Championship Tournament will happen when D’Lo Brown faces “Exotic” Adrian Street, Virgil and Bob Armstrong meet, The Mountie and Al Snow will clash, and Bryan Danielson squares off with the Masked Superstar! * Having earned a title shot by winning the tag team battle royal tonight, the Miracle Violence Connection will challenge The Mega-Bucks for the WCA Tag Team Championship in your main event!

[glow=red,2,300]Injury Update[/glow] ”Superfly” Jimmy Snuka has been cleared to return to active competition. Snuka had missed the previous two weeks with a concussion suffered at the hands of WCA Heavyweight Champion Killer Kowalski.
[glow=blue,2,300]Breaking News[/glow]
Meet the New Boss William Muldoon, former chairman of the New York State Athletic Commission, has accepted the position of Association Director of Athletics. In this capacity, Director Muldoon will represent the interests of the Association Board of Governors, and will make rulings pertaining to title matches, disciplinary actions, and the sanctioning of events. Director Muldoon, a former Greeco-Roman wrestling champion, was a mainstay in New York sports circles. We at Association Insider are excited he has decided to move South and join the Association.
Family Feud Reprehensible… Disgusting… Indefensible… These are just some of the ways people have been describing Brad Armstrong’s behavior towards his father, Bob Armstrong during their Lethal Lottery match. Fans were shocked when Brad went after his father with out any hesitation. “It was nothing personal, it was just business” Was how Brad justified his actions when asked for comments. “My father taught me to be a winner, and that’s what I was doing… Trying to win.” One man who doesn’t except that explanation is Brad’s younger brother, B.G. James of The James Gang. He has requested and been granted a match against Brad this week, when the Association comes to Eagle Gym on the campus of Northern New Mexico College in Espanola New Mexico. Bob Armstrong could not be reached for comment.
Mogol Released The Association has comes to terms with Geeto Mongol to release the tag team wrestler from his Association contract. The Association wishes Geeto the best of luck with his future endeavors.
Partner Roulette in Espanola We’re going to mix things up a little this coming week with a Partner Roulette six man tag match! With B.G. James signed to a singles match, Kip James will join forces with Paul London and Ray Stevens. This odd trio will face off against the threesome of Butch Miller, ”Sweet” Stan Lane and Hartford Love, who will no doubt have Johnny Fairplay and Big Daddy Dink, respectively, in their corner.
[glow=purple,2,300]Power Rankings[/glow] 1)Killer Kowalski (1,-) In convincing fashion, Kowalski defeated number one contender Curt Hennig to retain the WCA Heavyweight Championship and the #1 spot in the power rankings. 2) The Miracle Violence Connection (2,-) Terry Gordy dominated in the ten team battle royal, and in the process earned he and Steve Williams a shot at the WCA Tag Team Championship. With momentum on their side, can the MVC capture the gold? 3) The Mega-Bucks (4,+1) Andre showed his physical dominance again, manhandling three other men. This week, he and Ted DiBiase will face much stiffer competition in the form of Bam-bam and Dr. Death. 4)Bryan Danielson(10,+6) Since his debut, The American Dragon has remained unbeaten and now has advanced to the Heritage Title tournament. His first round opponent will be his Lethal Lottery Partner, Masked Superstar. We expect an instant classic. 5)Virgil (9,+4) The king of the upsets did it again when he and Bob Armstrong got the win over Bob Orton Sr. and Brad Armstrong in the Lethal Lottery. While the Armstrong family drama may have grabbed the headlines, it was Virgil who grabbed the win. Now the elder Armstrong and Virgil will meet in first round of the Heritage Title tournament. 6) The Mountie (-) Since losing the Tag Team Championship and going solo, The Mountie has returned to the win column with a vengeance. He and Lethal Lottery partner Al Snow will met in the first round of the Heritage Title tournament. 7)The Destroyer(6,-1) Though he didn’t factor in the decision, a lose in the Lethal Lottery was a rare blemish on the record of The Destroyer, who has one of the highest winning percentages in the Association. With the Heritage title now out of reach, what’s next for the sensational masked man? 8) D’Lo Brown (-) With a win in the Lethal Lottery, D’Lo Brown can leave his long standing rivalry with the Destroyer behind. Now Brown can focus on his next challenge, “Exotic” Adrian Street in the first round of the Heritage Title tournament. 9)Les Thatcher & Ray Stevens(-) Thatcher and Stevens came this || close to earning a shot at the tag team championship. While they turn their attention back to their red hot rivalry with the Love Brothers, you can be sure that this dynamic duo will be waiting in the wings for whoever leaves Espanola with the gold. 10)Curt Hennig (7,-3) The second generation star came up short against Killer Kowalski and now will have to work his way back into title contention. In the meantime, he’ll have bigger (literally) fish to fry, as in two weeks he’ll face King Kong Bundy in a qualifying match for Team America in the Wrestling World Cup.

Heritage Title Tournament Match Masked Superstar (with Big Daddy Dink) defeated Bryan Danielson via submission. The first round of the Heritage Title Tournament kicked off with a bang. Coming into this match, newcomer Bryan Danielson was undefeated in the Association, including a win over the Masked Superstar in a six-man tag team match. It looked like he was going to stay undefeated when, after over 15 minutes of exciting back and forth grappling, Danielson locked in the Cattle Mutilation submission hold! But, while Masked Superstar appeared to give up, referee Bill Alfonso did not see it, as he was distracted by Big Daddy Dink at ring side. This provided Masked Superstar with the opening he needed to recover, and when he locked in the Cobra Hold in the middle of the ring, there was no one there to provided a distraction to save Danielson. Masked Superstar advances in the tournament.
Heritage Title Tournament Match Al Snow defeated The Mountie via pinfall. These two popular Association superstars started things off with a handshake, and though there was no animosity between them, they still brought the intensity. Mountie has the advantage for a time, wearing Snow down with a Boston Crab, but he couldn’t put the resilient Snowman down. After The Mountie missed with a big splash, Snow battled back. He got a near fall after connecting with multiple head butts, and then got the victory following a Snow Plow! After the match, the two shook hands again, and the Mountie wished Snow luck in the next round against Masked Superstar.
Heritage Title Tournament Match Bob Armstrong defeated Virgil via pinfall. Bob Armstrong is a man with a broken heart. His son Brad viciously attacked him last week, and his two boys will lock horns latter tonight. All the rage and all the hurt he’s no doubt feeling, he took and exploded on Virgil. Bob dominated the bodyguard, often called the king of the upset, from the moment the bell rang, and quickly put him away with a picture perfect vertical suplex to advance to the next round of the tournament.
Heritage Title Tournament Match D’Lo Brown defeated ”Exotic” Adrian Street via pinfall. The Hot House Flower had D’Lo in trouble early on in this match. He connected twice with variations on his running crucifix pinning combination, but each time, D’Lo was able to escape. D’Lo battled back, countering a European uppercut, connecting with a swining side slam, followed by a running power bomb for the win. Brown looked impressive and will now face Bob Armstrong in the next round.
Six-man Tag Team Match ”Sweet” Stan Lane (with Johnny Fairplay), Hartford Love (with Big Daddy Dink), & Butch Miller defeated Kip James, Ray Stevens, & Paul London via pinfall. In this partner roulette match, neither trio was ever really able to click. While Stevens, London, and James had numberous miscommunications, Lane and Love were preoccupied by their managers bickering at ringside. The one man who seemed truly focused was Sheepherder Butch. He almost single handedly won the match for his team, getting the pinfall victory after hitting London with a devastating back elbow ram.
”The Natural” Brad Armstrong defeated B.G. James via pinfall. This was one of the most heated encounters between two brothers since Cain and Able. Before the match started, Bob Armstrong came out and tried to persuade B.G. to call of the match. While the two talked outside the ring, Brad snuck out and rammed an unsuspecting B.G. into the steel ringpost! He then put the boots to his downed younger brother. Bob tried to stop his older son, and got a jaw jacking right hand shot for his trouble. With Bob down, Brad rolled B.G. into the ring, where referee John Stiltz called for the bell to start the match. Brad then quickly hit not one, not two, but three Russian leg sweeps in quick succession to get the win.
Rob Van Dam defeated Executioner #3 via pinfall. The Whole F’n Show made surprisingly quick work of the much larger masked man. He used his superior agility, wearing down the big man with moves like an outside leg sweep and a standing moonsault. He then put Kowalski’s enforcer away with a five star frog splash.
”Hacksaw” Jim Duggan versus Justin Credible ended in a double disqualification. This long and bitter rivalry continues. These two spent more time brawling outside the ring then wrestling in it, and when the lumber and the bamboo got involved, referee David Garcia had no choice but to throw the match out. Association officials, including new Director of Athletics William Muldoon, had to seperate the two combatants before things got out of hand.
Killer Kowalski’s victory celebration interrupted. Before the main event, Killer Kowalski, accompanied by his masked goons The Executioners, came out to publicly gloat about his victory over Curt Hennig and his successful defense of the WCA Heavyweight champion. But his victory party was short lived, as soon it was crashed by unexpected and uninvited guest: The Destroyer! The sensational and intelligent masked man came out and challenged Kowalski, pointing out that he had the highest winning percentage of anyone in the Association and as such should be the number one contender. Before the champion could respond, “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka came out as well. Snuka pointed out that Kowalski and his thugs had attacked him two weeks ago and tried to put him out of the sport, and if anyone deserved a shot at Kowalski, it was him. Things looked like they were going to turn violent when Director of Athletics William Muldoon came out and offered a simple solution. The Destroyer and Snuka would meet next week, in Oklahoma City, in a best two-out-of-three-falls match. The winner would receive the next shot at Kowalski’s title. The Destroyer and Snuka agreed, despite Kowalski’s protests, and the match is now set.
Main Event WCA Tag Team Championship match The Miracle Violence Connection defeated The Mega-Bucks via pinfall to win the titles. Muldoon continued to make his presence felt as the champions came out next to defend their titles. The Director of Athletics sent the bodyguard Virgil back to the locker room, and referee Bill Alfonso soon followed, replaced for this match by referee David Garcia. These decisions, made by Muldoon in the interest of a fair contest, greatly upset the Mega-Bucks, particularly ted DiBiase. But when their threats to walk out on the match were countered with a threat of being stripped of the titles, DiBiase relented. Once the match started, it seemed as though DiBiase shouldn’t have worried. Andre the Giant manhandled “Dr. Death” Steve Williams, perhaps looking for some payback for the Oklahoma native handing him his first ever defeat. The 8th wonder of the world alternated between devastating body slams and grinding bear hugs to wear Williams down, getting two near falls. Like a shark who smells blood, DiBiase demanded to be tagged in, so that the victory and glory could be his. This proved to be a fatal mistake, as Williams was able to make a desperation tag to Gordy, who came in like a house of fire! Gordy tossed DiBiase around the ring, using back suplexes, Bam Bam Slams, and running lariats. DiBiase tried desperately to make the tag to Andre, but was cut off by Gordy, who then connected with a vicious power bomb. Andre made the save, but then Gordy nailed DiBiase with a piledriver, and when Andre tried to make the save that time, was cut off by Williams. Garcia made the three count, and Gordy and Williams are the new tag team champions!
* New Champions crowned in Espanola! Dr. Death will celebrate in his home state of Oklahoma by taking on Andre the Giant 1-on-1! * With the Wrestling World Cup rapidly approaching, the first two spots on Team America will be filled next week. First, Curt Hennig will take on King Kong Bundy in a qualifying match, then John Pesek battles One Man Gang! * After the way in which “The Natural” Brad Armstrong viciously attacked B.G. James and his father Bob Armstrong this week, Armstrong family friend and B.G.’s long time tag team partner Kip James has challenged “The Natural” to match in Oklahoma City. *The Heritage Title Tournament will come to a conclusion next week in OKC, first in the semi-finals, D’Lo Brown faces Bob Armstrong, and Al Snow takes on Masked Superstar, the winners will then battle it out for the belt in the semi-main event. *And it all leads up to a big main event, 2 out of 3 falls to determine the number one contender, “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka Vs. The Destroyer!

Promoter’s commentary Sorry for the delay… Christmas, ya know? Yeah! New champs! I’m really happy about this, because I didn’t have anyone else positioned to feud with the Mega-Bucks, and probably would have had to bring in the Road Warriors. Now, I can let the rest of the tag scene develop, and The Heavenly Bodies, The Love Brothers, or the Executioners might emerge as top challengers. Interesting foot note, The Destroyer really doesn’t have the best winning percentage in the Association. If you take out the tag team guys and guys with fewer then 5 matches (my personal threshold limit), the Destroyer actually comes in third. He’s behind the champ, Killer Kowalski, and surprisingly enough... Al Snow.

[glow=blue,2,300]Breaking News[/glow]
What’s DiBiase’s Game? When The Mega-Bucks lost the WCA Tag Team Championship to the Miracle Violence Connection, Association fans immediately began anticipating the inevitable rematch; after all, the champions had a rematch clause in their contracts, and Ted DiBiase has shown himself to be obsessed with the tag team gold. But fans, and the MVC, will have to wait. In a shocking move, DiBiase announced earlier today that he and Andre the Giant would NOT be invoking their rematch. Citing a need to focus on the upcoming Wrestling World Cup as the reason, DiBiase issued a statement taking himself and Andre the Giant out of contention for the tag team titles. While it’s true, DiBiase has a match in two weeks against ”Hacksaw” Jim Duggan for a spot on Team America, and Andre The Giant will be captaining Team European Union, we here at Association Insider are wondering if there isn’t something more behind this surprising announcement. Regardless, this means that Director of Athletics William Muldoon will have to make a decision regarding which Association duo will get the first chance at the new champions. The Dragon’s Revenge There’s no denying the simple fact, Big Daddy Dink cost “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson his first round tournament match with Dink’s man, The Masked Superstar. Danielson had the Cattle Mutilation locked in, and Superstar submitted to it. Everyone saw it, except the referee who was distracted by the antics of Dink at ringside. Danielson though will get his chance at a little pay back thanks to DoA Muldoon. This week, in Oklahoma, Bryan Danielson will take on Big Daddy Dink one-on-one! Or at least it should be, but word has it that Dink will be seconded by both Love Brothers. [glow=purple,2,300]Power Rankings[/glow] 1)The Miracle Violence Connection (2,+1) We have new Tag Team Champions and a new #1 in the Power Rankings. Gordy and Williams will have to wait for DoA Muldoon to decide upon their opponents for their first defense, but in the meantime, Dr. Death will be facing former Tag Team Champion Andre the Giant 1-on-1. 2) Killer Kowalski (1,-1) What’s a man got to do to have a simple victory celebration around here? Having bested Curt Hennig, Kowalski might have thought he’d get a moments rest, but now he’s got both “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka and The Destroyer gunning for him. 3) The Destroyer (7, +4) The Sensational masked marvel made his presence felt in Espanola, stating his case for deserving the next shot at Killer Kowalski’s WCA Heavyweight Championship. This week, he’ll have a chance to earn that shot when he meets “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka in a 2-out-of-3 fall match to determine the #1 contender. 4)D’Lo Brown (8,+4) Brown impressed in the first round of the Heritage Title tournament, besting “Exotic” Adrian Street and giving the flamboyant Englishman a rare pinfall loss. Next, Brown will battle Bob Armstrong for a spot in the finals. 5)Al Snow (-) The Snowman has been on a hot streak lately. In the first round of the Heritage Title tournament, he bested a former champion in The Mountie. Now, all that stands between Snow and the finals is The Masked Superstar. 6) Masked Superstar (-) With out Big Daddy Dink, it would be Bryan Danielson awaiting a show down with The Snowman, but thanks to his manager and The Cobra Hold, Masked Superstar is one win away from the Heritage Title tournament finale. 7)”The Natural” Brad Armstrong (-) Brad Armstrong’s dispicple actions against his own brother earned him a victory, and the wrath of B.G. James’ best friend and tag team partner, Kip James. The two will meet this week in OKC. 8) Bob Armstrong (-) That Bob Armstrong managed to focus on beating Virgil in the face of all of his current family drama is nothing short of remarkable. He’ll have to focus once more if he’s going to beat D’Lo Brown and earn a spot in the finals. 9)”Superfly” Jimmy Snuka (-) Superfly returned from his concussion and made sure that Killer Kowalski knew that he had a target on his back. First though, before Snuka can get his revenge by taking Kowalski’s title, Superfly will have to beat The Destroyer in a 2-out-of-3 fall match to become the number 1 contender. 10)Bryan Danielson (3,-7) The American Dragon got screwed by Big Daddy Dink and the inept officiating of referee Bill Alfonso. This week in Oklahoma City, Danielson will get a chance for a little revenge when he takes on Big Daddy Dink one-on-one. Big Daddy Dink (with The Love Brothers) defeated Bryan Danielson via pinfall. DoA Muldoon signed this match as an opportunity for Danielson to get a little payback for Dink costing The American Dragon his chance at the Heritage title. Of course, there was no way that Dink was going to allow this to turn into a far fight, as he brought the hateful hippies, The Love Brothers with him. Danielson was distracted by the duo at ringside, which allowed Dink to use his considerable girth advantage to shove Danielson out of the ring. With Hartford and Dink distracting referee John Stiltz, Reginald snuck around and ran Danielson headfirst into the steel ring post! He then rolled a hurt Danielson back into the ring, and he and his brother provided the necessary distraction to allow Dink to nail Danielson with a pair of brass knuckles and score the surprising victory. After the match, the Love Brothers came into the ring and started putting the boots to Danielson, but fortunately, Les Thatcher and Ray Stevens chased them off before they could do any serious damage. The dynamic duo, wielding chairs, chased the hippies and their manager clear out of the building! One thing is certain, the war between Dink’s crew and Danielson, Thatcher, and Stevens is far from over.
Heritage Title Tournament Semi-Final Match Masked Superstar defeated Al Snow via pinfall. If Masked Superstar was concerned by his manager’s absence, he didn’t let it show. He battled the extremely popular Snowman with his usual levels of swagger and arrogance. Snow put up a brave fight, even escaping from the dreaded Cobra Hold, but the Masked Superstar was in control the whole time. Finally, Superstar connected with a cross-body block off the top rope for the three count to advance to the tournament finals.
Heritage Title Tournament Semi-Final Match Bob Armstrong defeated D’Lo Brown via pinfall. One can only imagine the emotional turmoil Bob Armstrong is going through as his son Brad turns against his family. Some how, Bob has managed to channel all of that turmoil into an impressive run in the Heritage Title Tournament. That run continued as he battled D’Lo Brown in an impressive match up that saw Armstrong’s old school style get the better of D’Lo’s more high risk offense. In the end though, it was Armstrong who got the win by going to the high rent district, scoring the pinfall with a sunset flip off the top rope! Bob Armstrong will now face The Masked Superstar in the finals later tonight.
Kip James defeated ”The Natural” Brad Armstrong via pinfall. This match was fueled by bitter emotion after The Natural viciously attacked his own brother, Kip’s partner, B.G. James last week. It proved to be an instant classic as these two very evenly matched competitors battled for nearly thirty minutes! Armstrong had the advantage often, but could never put the resilient Kip away. The turning point came though when referee Bill Alfonso was sandwiched between the two in the corner and knocked out! With no referee to keep order, Brad went out and got a chair, intent on taking a short cut to victory; but his brother B.G. James ran out and not only took the chair from him, but nailed his big brother with a pump handle slam! Kip made the cover, and Alfonso recovered and made the count, but Brad managed to kick out! Kip quickly followed up with a standing legdrop and this time Brad didn’t escape.
Wrestling World Cup Team America Qualifying Match Curt Hennig defeated King Kong Bundy via pinfall. Curt Hennig used his speed to avoid the much larger Bundy, and used his agility to confound the Atlantic City native. Though Bundy showed tremendous resiliency, Hennig was in control the whole match, and finally managed to put the big man down with the axe.
Wrestling World Cup Team America Qualifying Match John Pesek defeated One Man Gang via submission. In the second “David Vs. Goliath” match of the night, David once again proved victorious. Pesek used his superior mat wrestling skills and a variety of punishing holds to wear down the massive OMG. Though the crowd was far from thrilled with this match (there were several chants of “boring”) Pesek persevered, stuck to his game plan, and forced the Gang to submit to his Tiger Man Toehold.
Andre the Giant (with Virgil) defeated ”Dr. Death” Steve Williams via pinfall. Hometown hero “Dr. Death” Steve Williams came in riding a big wave of momentum. He and partner Terry Gordy defeated Andre and Ted DiBiase last week to become the new tag team champions, and weeks earlier Williams had shocked the world when he slammed Andre the Giant and gave the 8th wonder of the world his first pinfall loss. He was looking to continue his hot streak, but Andre would have none of it. The French monster attacked Williams before the bell, and manhandled him. Though Williams mounted a brief comeback, Andre squashed it… Literally, as he used a series of sitdown splashes to wear down and ultimately defeat Dr. Death.
Semi-Main Event Heritage Title Tournament Finale Bob Armstrong defeated Masked Superstar via submission to win the title. Many had predicted Masked Superstar would win the Heritage title from the outset of the tournament, and, in light of the drama ripping the Armstrong family apart, few gave Bob Armstrong much of a chance of even reaching the finals. But Bob Armstrong showed he has a lion’s heart as he battled back after being dominated early. Armstrong escaped the dreaded Cobra Hold, the second man to do so tonight, and turned the tables on Masked Superstar, soon locking in his own submission hold, the dreaded Armstrong Sleeper! Perhaps, if Big Daddy Dink had been at ringside, things would have been different for Masked Superstar, as last week Dink’s distraction allowed Superstar to escape the cattle mutilation. But with no manager at ringside, Superstar faded fast, and referee Joe Lawrence raised Superstar’s arm three times, it fell three times, and Bob Armstrong is the first Heritage Champion! After the match, fan favorites, including The James Gang, The Mountie, Curt Hennig, and D’Lo Brown came out to the ring to celebrate with Bob. While the celebration was on going, a petulant and angry looking Brad Armstrong came out of the locker room and stared at the celebration in disgust. The Mountie, Brad’s former tag team partner tried to persuade Brad to join the celebration, but instead, The Natural turned his back, both literally and figuratively, on his father and stormed back to the locker room.
Main Event Number One Contenders match Best two out of three falls The Destroyer defeated ”Superfly” Jimmy Snuka in two straight falls. Maybe Snuka came back from the concussion he suffered at the hands of Killer Kowalski and the Executioners too soon. Maybe he underestimated or looked past the Destroyer. Maybe the Destroyer is simply every bit as sensational as he claims. Regardless of the reason, Superfly was simply out wrestled here. He was never even in it as the Destroyer made quick work of the Fiji Island native in the first fall, getting a quick 3 count after the Sensational Suplex! After a brief rest period, the second fall began, and though Snuka started strong, the Destroyer quickly took over and locked in his figure four leg lock in the middle of the ring! With no escape possible, Snuka’s shoulders were counted down, and The Destroyer became the new number one contender. Before he could even think to celebrate, The Executioners hit the ring and attacked both Snuka and The Destroyer. Association officials rushed to the ring to separate the four men before things got out of hand.
* The 1st Heritage Champion crowned in Oklahoma City! Bob Armstrong won’t be in action next week when the Association returns to Arlington Texas, but he will be in the corner of The Mountie when he battles “The Natural” Brad Armstrong! * The final two spots on Team America will be filled when first Ted DiBiase takes on “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, and then Rob Van Dam tangles with Virgil for the final spot. * DoA Muldoon has announced that there will be a match in Arlington to determine the number one contenders to the tag team titles, currently held by the Miracle Violence Connection. Who will be in that match, and what that match might entail he had yet to reveal. *Your big main event in Texas Hall will see the new number one contender The Destroyer team with “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka to take on Killer Kowalski and Executioner #2! This will be the first in ring encounter between The Destroyer and the WCA Heavyweight Champion, plus Snuka is certainly still looking for some payback, so this match promises to be explosive.

First Defenses Set, Challengers to be Determined Director of Athletics William Muldoon announced two up coming title matches, both of which will take place at the Wrestling World Cup event in Little Rock Arkansas on the 9th of May. First, Bob Armstrong will make the first defense of his newly won Heritage Championship against the winner of the match this coming week in Arlington between The Mountie and Bob’s own son, ”The Natural” Brad Armstrong. “My father taught me to be winner, and that’s what I am. After I destroy The Mountie, I’ll head up to Little Rock, and I’ll break anyone who stands between me and the Heritage Championship” said Brad when reached for comment. The other announced title match will see The Miracle Violence Connection make their first defense of the tag team championship. They will defend the belts against the winning team in a four team elimination match, featuring The Love Brothers, Brian Kendrick & Paul London, The Heavenly Bodies, and Les Thatcher & Ray Stevens. That elimination match will take place this coming week in Arlington as well.
Another Crack at Dink Thanks to the interference of The Love Brothers, Bryan Danielson’s match against Big Daddy Dink didn’t go as The American Dragon had hoped. This coming week, Danielson will get another crack at Dink, when he takes on Masked Superstar and his rotund manager in a handicap match. Dink is directly responsible for the only two losses on Danielson’s record, and the proud grappler is still looking to get a little payback.
[glow=purple,2,300]Power Rankings[/glow] 1)The Destroyer (3,+2) The new number one contender wowed the fans with his impressive victory over “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka. Now, as the sensational masked man prepares for his first in ring encounter with WCA Heavyweight Champion Killer Kowalski, he must also prepare for a new experience… Being cheered. 2) Killer Kowalski (2,-) The champ sent his goons to take out his new number one contender The Destroyer and his long time rival Jimmy Snuka, but DoA Muldoon was ready and had extra security on hand. This week in Arlington, Kowalski will have to do his own dirty work for a change. 3) The Miracle Violence Connection (1, -2) Dr. Death and Bam-bam have been riding high for weeks now, on a wave of momentum ever since Williams body slammed Andre the Giant. That momentum came to a screeching halt in OKC. Now, the champs await their next challenger and will have to try and get the big M back on their side. 4)Bob Armstrong(8,+4) Congratulations are in order as Bob Armstrong became the first WCA Heritage Champion. Though victory is sweet, it’s tempered by sadness as the on going family drama drives the Armstrong clan further apart. This week, Bob will actually be in the corner of his son’s opponent, The Mountie. 5)Andre The Giant (-) Andre got a little payback this week as he bested the only man to have pinned him, Dr. Death Steve Williams. With the Mega-Bucks opting not to invoke their rematch clause, the 8th wonder of the world is reported to be completely focused on bringing the Wrestling World Cup trophy to his native France. 6) Masked Superstar (6,-) Though he lost in the tournament finals to Bob Armstrong, Masked Superstar did pick up an impressive victory over Al Snow. Next on the agenda is another chapter in his budding rivalry with Bryan Danielson. 7)John Pesek(-) The Nebraska Tiger Man finally notched his first win in an Association ring, cutting the big One Man Gang down to size. More importantly, Pesek punched his ticket to the Wrestling World Cup as part of Team America. 8) Curt Hennig (-) The second generation superstar got back to his winning ways, beating the massive King Kong Bundy to secure his place on Team America. 9)”The Natural” Brad Armstrong(7,-2) Though he came out on the loosing end in Oklahoma City “The Natural” put on one hell of a show, battling Kip James in match of the year candidate. Next, Brad will square off against his former partner The Mountie, and if he wins, he’ll get a shot at his father’s new Heritage Championship. 10)Big Daddy Dink (-) No, that’s not a typo. Big Daddy Dink has given Bryan Danielson his only two losses in an Association ring. This week in Arlington, he’ll go for #3.
